Objective
Support of the “Lifeline”-Project, which has been initiated by the people of Sarayaku in cooperation with a group of foreign NGOs. Under this project, the community undertakes efforts to visibly demarcate its territory by planting thousands of trees that would blossom in bright colors.
Steps taken
Support with regards to infrastructure – Technical advice on how to manage remote tree nurseries, material support by providing outboard engines, fuel, tools, radio stations, satellite telephones and GPS systems. Besides, PVA provided the botanical center of Sarayku which aims at preserving traditional knowledge and educating the population about the necessity of the project, with didactic material.
